Projekt2.     The Mk4 Golf GTI 20Valve Turbo - 150bhp - 210bhp Oettinger Conversion

After the heartbreak of selling my mk3, the only thing left to console myself was to progress. At the time, car insurance was in my favour, I decided to take the plunge and promote myself into a new league. From the 1.4i 60bhp mk3, I decided to bite the bullet and invest in the 1.8i 20v Turbo 150bhp. That was one hell of a jump and boy did I feel it. But it broke the bank. I bought the (at the time) top of the range model with nearly every possible option. I didn't think my mk3 would sell so quickly and decided to take my time looking for a new car. But the popularity of the green babe was so amazing, I sold the car within 30 minutes of the adverts appearing in the Auto Trader. It was amazing, I had nearly 200 calls in one day, and that was the weekly edition. Even 6 months later I was still getting calls. Incredible. I managed to increase my asking price as people were bidding against each other. I couldn't complain too much. I eventually sold the car for exactly what I paid for it - 40,000miles and 2 years later!!! But such was the quick sale, I couldn't wait to get a new car, I was going to import a new Golf from Belgium but I couldn't wait the 12 weeks wait time. So I visited the local VW dealer and 2 hours later ofter swift talks with the bank, I bought my next babe. A diamond black 5 door 20v Turbo. Unfortunately it was not really my first choice being a 5 door, that and the fact that the car was an ex demo, but the spec just took me in.: Cruise Control, A/C, Sunroof, Heated Leather Recaro sports seats, BBS cross spoke Alloys, 6 stack CD, Full electrics. It was too good to pass up. Little did I know, it would wipe my bank for a long time. When I bought it, I knew I would not leave it standard, a couple mods here and there. Boy I was wrong!!!

Within 3 days, I went and had the windows tinted.

Then the mods started comming in thick and fast.

Tired with that look, I needed more inspiration. More talks with RSDs Tony Roberts and then came the facelift.
